How We Help with Performance and Caching
Included in:
All Plans
We tune your site’s caching, CDN, and WordPress performance, then keep watching to make sure it stays fast.

WordPress performance can’t be done properly with a one-size-fits-all automated script. It requires multiple tools working in harmony finely-tuned by specialists, and verification it helps in the real world.
We dial in on-page optimizations using best-in-class tools, as well as manual edits when needed. We then top that off with caching both on your server and on the CDN because that combination gives you speed and stability.
The result is that pages load faster for visitors while server keeps humming along.
How we get your sites running fast

The right tools for the right job
We choose caching and delivery tools based on what your site actually needs, then keep the tools minimal. Each layer has a clear job, and we make sure they work together rather than fight each other. Fewer conflicts means faster troubleshooting and more predictable performance day to day.

On-Page Optimization
We review your site personally to make practical, page-level improvements, such as removing unused CSS or delaying JavaScript. We then apply Real User Monitoring — not just simulated tests — to make sure we’re getting the results we expect.

Custom Cloudflare Caching
We use custom cache rules to store and serve all resources on your domain from Cloudflare’s global datacenters — including proper HTML page caching. We’ve dialed in our configuration for WordPress, and we can adjust it further based on your site’s specific needs.

On-Server Caching
In addition to the CDN caching layer, we store both HTML and page-specific performance optimizations at the server level. This layer provides additional stability to the server, and helps keep CSS optimizations in place.

Surgical cache clearing
Instead of wiping your entire cache every time something changes, we clear only the pages and assets that actually changed. That keeps content fresh while maintaining speed across the rest of your site.

Host-aware setup
If your host provides their own caching, we account for it and make sure it works with everything else instead of fighting it.

Performance monitoring and reporting
We watch for regressions and real-world slowdowns, alert on issues, track patterns over time, and share reporting so you can see what changed and why.

We can improve anything
But, in the unlikely chance that there’s anything holding your site back that is outside of our control, we’ll go over it with you and provide clear recommendations on what to do next.
Why fast, predictable load times help your business
Slow pages lose people. And caching that’s not working properly can slow your site down or show outdated content.
When caching and your CDN are tuned properly, speed becomes consistent, and your site becomes easier to run day to day. Pages load quickly for visitors, updates go live when they should, and you have a real team actively watching for problems before they become bigger headaches.
We’re here for sites where speed affects traffic, sales, rankings, or trust (and for when you want a team that explains what we’re doing in plain English). We’re especially helpful for content-driven businesses and organizations where usability and load time show up in real results.
Here’s how one client, Rebecca Swanner (Let’s Eat Cake), described it:
Results like these need a setup built around your site instead of a generic template and a team that stays engaged long after onboarding.

Things you might be wondering (aka: FAQs)
Core Web Vitals are Google’s set of page experience metrics, like how quickly the main content shows up, how responsive the page feels, and whether things jump around while loading. Caching and a well-tuned CDN help because they reduce server work and speed up delivery. But Core Web Vitals can also be affected by images, fonts, third-party scripts, ads, and the theme itself. Our approach is to stabilize the foundation first, then tackle the on-page issues that move the needle for your specific site.
We keep things simple and intentional: one layer that handles caching on the WordPress side, and another at the network edge that handles CDN, firewall, and edge caching. In practice, we typically use WP Rocket for WordPress-level caching and Cloudflare Enterprise for CDN, firewall, and edge caching, configured to work together and play nicely with your hosting, logins, carts, membership content, and anything else your site depends on. The goal is to move fast without breaking things.
No. Speed test scores can be useful, but they’re not the point. We care about how your site loads for real people — consistently — and we monitor for regressions over time, because “it was fast once” isn’t that helpful.
Most likely, yes! We’ve worked with all kinds of sites and can tailor our caching setup specifically for your site – including excluding tricky pages (if needed). We’d be happy to take a look before you sign up, if you’d like – just give us a shout.
