But agents learn from the entire internet. And the internet has a lot of advice — some good, some outdated, and some that works for one site and breaks another. There may be five “right ways” to do something in WordPress, but only one of them is right for what you need.
Agents can break things on live websites not because they’re not capable, but because they can’t always tell the good tips from the bad ones. (Or they may be too eager to help and change more than you wanted!)

How the NerdPress Guided Agent Connector works

The Connector works with Claude, ChatGPT, and other AI agents that support custom connectors (also called MCPs). You won’t need to mess with new passwords or “authentication credentials” — it’s just a few clicks.
2. Your agent gets our expertise.
While you and your agent work on your site, it automatically gets NerdPress best practices and advice.
3. Put it to work.
Hand your agent the site chores you’ve been putting off (see some ideas below). But don’t worry, the riskiest changes, like deleting content, aren’t allowed unless you explicitly say so in your dashboard.
4. Do more with less.
We’ve designed the connector to reduce token usage dramatically. And it will be significantly more efficient and faster than having an agent use your web browser directly. This is not only better for the planet, it may also save you money.

The site chores you’ve been putting off
What your agent can do depends on your site and the permissions you give it. Here’s some of what NerdPress clients are already using it for:
- Checking menus for broken links, then fixing them
- Finding internal linking opportunities across older posts
- Adding missing alt text to images

Questions we’ve been asked
The Connector is included with your Sleep Soundly, Inner Peace, Zen Master, or Enterprise NerdPress Support plan for no extra charge. However, you may need a paid plan for your AI agent of choice.
We’re including the Connector with most of our current Support Plans, which come with tons of other benefits as well. We are considering making it available to others in the future, but we’re not sure if or when that will happen — so if you want the Connector now, consider this just one more reason to sign up for our support! 😉
Any AI client app that supports custom connectors (also called MCPs), including Claude, ChatGPT, and Cursor. AI plan features change often, so check your AI agent’s plan to see if connectors are allowed.
Nope! If you can use your AI agent and log in to your WordPress dashboard, you can set up the Guided Agent Connector in a few minutes. If you get stuck, our Support Team is always happy to help.
That depends on how you set it up. We’ve enabled most “WordPress core” features (such as updating content or editing menus). Other plugins on your site may make their own features available over time. (If they declare an “MCP Ability” we’ll automatically pick that up and help your agent use it.) The riskiest actions, like deleting content, deactivating plugins, or running updates, need to be allowed, and some changes will wait for your explicit approval.
While nothing is risk-free, we’ve built the Connector to be significantly safer when compared to other ways to let agents work on your site. This includes Guardrails, Guidance, Audit Logging, and an Undo function where possible. Particularly “risky” changes may also ask you to explicitly authorize them before your agent proceeds. We remind your agent to back up your site before potentially destructive changes, and you can undo most things, but if something happens, our Support Team will do our best to help sort it out (just keep in mind we’re mere mortals).
Yes, of course! You can revoke permissions for each connection separately, or simply uninstall the plugin and you’ll be all set.

And you can use the Guided Agent Connector too! In fact, if you’re using a slightly less intelligent model than the frontier models, we really recommend that you use the Connector.
