Avoid Analytics Overload

Published August 4, 2012, Updated November 22, 2020 by Andrew Wilder

I’m currently at the BlogHer ’12 Conference in New York, where about 5,000 bloggers, mostly women, have convened to discuss all things blogging.

I just had the pleasure of speaking alongside the fabulous Keidra Chaney, as we discussed the basics of Google Analytics — and how to avoid being completely overloaded by the volume of information it provides.  Sometimes, just knowing where to start can be a pretty powerful thing.

Thanks to everyone who came to our session and asked terrific questions (and tweeted!), and to Shannon Carroll, who invited me to speak on this panel.

We flew through a ton of information, and Keidra and I thought it would be helpful to make our slide deck available so you can take a closer look and follow the many links to further resources.  Enjoy!
